Make a difference - Change one light bulb
How often in your life can you say that one change can add up to a big difference in the life of many? What I am talking about isn't costly in terms of money or time. What I am talking about is changing one high use bulb in your house from a normal incandescent light bulb to a compact fluorescent bulb. The cost is minimal, anywhere from $3 to $6 USD for one bulb. The compact fluorescent bulb will last 8-10 times longer than a incandescent bulb and it will use one third to one quarter of the energy of an incandescent bulb. Those figures are for you - how they directly impact you. The overall impact is this - if every household changed just one light bulb then it would eleminate the emissions impact on the environment equal to one million cars per year. Just think about that - one million cars emissions impact reduced on the environment. Also, not to mention that fact that less energy is being consumed which could ultimately reduce the need to create more electricity producing and emission polluting sources of energy like coal plants or natural gas plants. Taking it a step further, can you imagine the impact if every household in the world that has electricity did the same thing? Taking that a step further, can you imagine the impact if every household in the world that has electricity changed EVERY light bulb in their home? So, by taking one step that is easy and productive, we can impact our world in a positive manner. If you haven't made the switch with one light bulb in your house, please consider it and if you want to take it a step further - please consider changing all your light bulbs.
