All this talk about a recession
All this talk about a recession, in my opinion, is a self-fufilling prophecy to a large extent. The way the media is today, reporting tabloid like in most instances, everything is repeated and beaten to death over and over again. That is one reason why I rarely watch the news. I think that the more people hear talk of a recession the more people make adjustments in their spending habits which causes the cycle to churn. I do know that prices have risen on many items we all buy and no denying that gasoline prices are rising but the more people hear that this or that may happen from a "talking head" on TV then the more people entreach themselves like it were the Great Depression or something. Just take a look at your local news, every night they lead off with crime stories. If one were so inclined, they would think it was not safe to leave the house but in reality the chance of a crime affecting you are very, very slim. Just my two cents. |
